Suoni Immaginari

Heavyweight oversized tee.

Suoni Immaginari (transl: Imaginary Sounds) is the name of an ambient record from the 80’s by Italian artist Agostino Nirodh Fortini. Its a collection of natural field recordings combined with artificial synth sounds. I pulled it out of a bin at a record store in Brooklyn.
Music was a way for my dad and I to connect. He shaped my taste in music in the same way he shaped my worldview. I used to poke through his records without knowing any of them. Later on as an adult, I’d recognize some of those names or covers, sometimes without realizing why.
The hifi system we had at home enabled this connection. It was fragile, it was important. Without this, there is no connection.
My first hifi system was gifted to me from my dad. The speakers we create will be inherited by the next generation, to continue a legacy of inspiration.
